From the CEO: Looking Ahead to 2020

Dec 19, 2019 |

At year’s end, I’m reminded by something Walt Disney once said:  “Around here, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious … and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

2019 was a year of change and growth for the Amputee Coalition.  As the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer, I came to the Amputee Coalition with respect for the organization’s mission and its dedication to serving the community.  I have fond memories of the Annual Conference and the people I met there.  I am excited about the growth we experienced with the programs and services we offer to people with limb loss and limb difference.  I believe strongly in public policy and the responsibility Congress and the administration have toward our community and look forward to reinvigorating activities to shape laws and policies that benefit our community.

Too often, people can be cynical about a new year.  Not me.  I’m looking forward to 2020 — to turning the calendar page to a fresh new year … a year of growth and change for the Amputee Coalition.  We’ve set some big goals in the new year to serve our community well, in new ways, and with innovative and interesting educational and support tools, as well as access to services in local communities in all 50 states.

Thank you for being part of our community.  I’m honored to serve as this organization’s President & CEO and I am looking forward to the new year and the promise it brings.  On behalf of the team here at the Amputee Coalition, we wish you a very happy new year, and look forward to connecting with you along the way.
