Contributor Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Amputee Coalition THRIVE Blog! We welcome submissions from community members and passionate writers who want to share their insights, knowledge, and perspectives with our readers. While we may receive many submissions, not all articles may be selected for inclusion in our blog. Articles posted are at the sole discretion of the Amputee Coalition and may require edits or modifications prior to publishing. Please review the following guidelines before submitting your article to ensure a smooth and collaborative process. 

1. Content Guidelines:

• Originality: We only accept original content that has not been published elsewhere. Please do not submit articles that have been published on other platforms. 
• Relevance: Ensure your topic is relevant to our blog and aligns with our content categories. Check our archives to get a sense of the topics we cover. 
• Length: Aim for a word count between 400 and 600 words. Longer pieces may be considered if the content justifies the length. 
• Tone: Maintain a conversational and engaging tone. Keep our audience in mind and strive to make your content accessible to a wide range of readers. 
• Content Restrictions: Promotional content related to individual products or personal fundraising efforts is prohibited.  
• Citations: If you use statistics, quotes, or references, provide proper citations and attribute the sources appropriately.

2. Formatting Guidelines:

• Title: Craft a compelling and descriptive title. Avoid clickbait titles and ensure they accurately represent the content. 
• Subheadings: Break down your article with clear subheadings to enhance readability. 
• Paragraphs: Keep paragraphs concise and focused. Use bullet points or numbered lists when appropriate.
• Images: Include relevant images with proper attribution if necessary. Ensure that images are high-quality and add value to the content. If you want the Amputee Coalition to provide an appropriate photo, please indicate that in your submission. 
• Author Bio: Provide a brief author bio (2-3 sentences).

3. Submission Process:

• Complete the Guest Contributor Submission Form.
• Include your article in the Blog Content field or upload it as a Word document.
• Upload any photos that should accompany the article.
• The editorial team will review your submission and respond within 5 business days. If accepted, we may suggest revisions or proceed with the publishing process

4. Editorial Process:

• All submissions are subject to editing for clarity, grammar, and style. We will collaborate with you to ensure your voice is maintained. 
• We reserve the right to reject or request revisions for any submission that does not meet our guidelines or align with our values.
