There will be two sessions titled “Breaking Barriers Into Workforce Development” and “Finding Your Voice: Career Pathways Workshop.”

During the Breaking Barriers session, Workforce Development Manager Trenaya Reid will give an overview of the program, the services and programs we provide, and upcoming events we will have within our department for career and professional development. After that, there will be an overview of Vocational Rehabilitation services for adults with limb loss and limb difference. Vocational Rehabilitation is a state government program that assists people with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining employment. There will be time after the session for Q&A.

Later in the day, we will be hosting our Career Pathways Workshop. In this session, you will hear from three Amputee Coalition staff members who will talk about their career journeys as a person with a disability. The session will discuss different career paths, Americans With Disabilities Act accommodations within the workplace, and resources to help obtain and maintain competitive employment.

If you are interested in attending any of these Workforce Development training sessions, register today for the Advocacy Forum.
