We are just a few weeks away from Disability Employment Awareness Month in October! The Amputee Coalition will have a series of articles/webinars from different professionals, organizations, and the Amputee Coalition; on various job-related topics and resources. The first webinar the Amputee Coalition will be hosting for Disability Employment Awareness Month will be Self-Employment within the Agriculture Industry, in collaboration with AgrAbilty.
Within the Amputee Coalition, there has been an interest in participants within rural communities wanting to transition back into the Agriculture Industry after an amputation(s). This webinar will provide our participants and other individuals/organizations with the information needed to assist them with how farming and ranching professions can be possible for individuals with disabilities.
On October 14th at 2:00pm EST, Paul Jones, Manager of AgrAbility (Purdue University) will be hosting a 30-minute webinar providing a brief overview of AgrAbility and the services they offer. In addition, Paul will discuss the different accommodations available to those within the Agriculture Industry that have disabilities, how to locate AgrAbility services throughout the country and how to start an AgrAbility Project. There will also be time at the end of the webinar for Q&A.
