Honoring Our Volunteers on International Volunteer Day

Dec 5, 2022 |

Internation Volunteer Day - Thank you for your time and EFForts to support the Limb loss and limb difference community!Today is International Volunteer Day. Today we celebrate the spirit of volunteerism. Amputee Coalition wants to thank all our volunteers for all you do to support the limb loss and limb difference community.

The heart of the Amputee Coalition’s mission is our peer support programs. No one is in a better position to understand living life with an amputation or supporting a person with limb loss/difference than someone who has been there. Our peer support volunteers offer encouragement and information that an individual in this circumstance can better absorb. This work is invaluable to new amputees.

Volunteers working in our support groups provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals living with limb loss or limb difference and their family members. They offer invaluable opportunities to connect with others who have overcome similar challenges and setbacks.

We believe that support comes in many forms and can make an incredible difference in recovery and rehabilitation. Today, we also recognize our volunteers who advocate for issues and policies facing the limb loss and limb difference community on both state and local levels. Our new advocacy Ambassadors and Champions are working hard to expand our advocacy channels, and we are grateful for all your enthusiasm to expand the program.

Volunteerism drives positive change for the common good. We sincerely thank you for your time and efforts in supporting the limb loss and limb difference community.
