Meet Shree Thaker, Director of Health and Wellness

Shree is a multicultured global transplant, calls the DC area home, and is an avid outdoors enthusiast. These traits are representative of her approach not only to this role but to her life. She is a proud Virginia Tech Hokie and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine graduate.Shree Thacker in front of the United States Capitol building.

In her new role, Shree will be leading the Resource and Referral team to update and disseminate valuable resources to limb loss and limb difference community members in multiple accessible formats. She will be developing tools to further engage and expand the reach of our services for our community members. Her expansive background encompasses social media content creation and community management, prosthetic technology manufacturing, prosthetic and orthotic device fabrication, international volunteer program development, corporate social responsibility partnerships, multimillion-dollar fundraising, and being a patient advocate. You could say she has worn many hats along the way!

AC is an organization near and dear to her because of its vital role on both the US and global stages as it houses critical resources for vulnerable populations. This opportunity to be on the front lines of the work we do is a unique and exciting one. Shree’s most thrilled to work among a group of colleagues who value collaborative processes and would love to discuss anything from public policy to swimming with hammerhead sharks!
