Join the ACL in Observance of Medicare Fraud Prevention Week

Jun 5, 2023 |

Medicare Fraud Prevention Week (MFPW)

During the week of June 5-11, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) and its Senior Medicare Patrol Resource Center lead the nation’s observance of Medicare Fraud Prevention Week. Established in 2022, this week focuses on raising awareness of the actions everyone can take to prevent Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse.

Medicare loses an estimated $60 billion each year due to fraud, errors, and abuse. Every day, issues related to these problems affect people across the country, often costing them time, money, and peace of mind.

Medicare Fraud Prevention Week plays a vital role in safeguarding the integrity of the Medicare program. By raising awareness, educating beneficiaries and healthcare providers, and implementing proactive measures, this campaign helps combat fraudulent activities that compromise the quality of care and divert resources away from those who need them the most.
