Amputee Coalition’s New Employment Council Kicks off in 2024

Jan 16, 2024 |

Starting off the new year strong, the Amputee Coalition’s Workforce Development Program has launched a forum for organizations and colleges/universities aligned with our community with the newly formed Workforce Development Employment Council. The mission of the Employment Council is to collaborate with employers, organizations, and colleges/universities, to provide professional and career opportunities for adults, veterans, and youth (ages 15-17) with limb loss and limb difference; with a focus on DEI initiatives, ADA accommodations, inclusive workplaces and strategies to increase hiring efforts for veterans and individuals with disabilities.

In our first meeting, council members met and shared information and resources about their organization and/or college/university. In addition, council members were provided with an overview of Amputee Coalition’s departments and resources. Watch the Employment Council Meeting and learn more about the upcoming topics for 2024. Monthly meeting recordings will be uploaded to the Workforce Development Program homepage.
