Resources in Celebration of National Women’s Health and Fitness Day

Sep 27, 2023 |

Ladies, today is your day! Highlighting the importance of total health care, National Women’s Health and Fitness Day is recognized the last Wednesday of September each year. In 2023 the date falls on September 27. Mental health is just as important as physical health and this day is all about women focusing on making healthy lifestyle choices.

We’d like to share with you just a few organizations that focus their efforts on advocating on behalf of women.

WomenHeart: the National Coalition of Women and Heart Disease, is the first and only national patient-centered organization dedicated to serving women with heart disease. Learn the signs of symptoms of heart attacks in women and preventative actions you can take.

HealthyWoman is dedicated to educating women ages 35 to 64 so they can make informed health decisions, advocate for themselves, and prioritize their health and wellness.

The Society for Women’s Health Research is the thought leader in promoting research on biological sex differences in disease and improving women’s health through science, policy, and education. They also have virtual events that you can take advantage of on topics including heart disease and lung cancer.

Learn more from each of these organizations and how you can get involved today!

We also encourage you to utilize the resources and information for mental health and wellness available through our National Limb Loss Resource Center.
