Pay it Forward: Certified Peer Visitor (CPV) Training at #ACNC23

Jun 6, 2023 |

We are excited to announce Hybrid Certified Peer Visitor Training for the 2023 National Conference! Becoming a Certified Peer Visitor (CPV) is a remarkable way to show love to your community—paying it forward by giving back. By undertaking this role, individuals who have navigated their amputation journey can offer invaluable support, empathy, and resources to those facing similar challenges. In sharing their experiences and knowledge, CPVs inspire hope, instill confidence, and provide a compassionate presence that can make a difference in someone’s life.

This volunteer certification training is intended for registered 2023 National Conference attendees living with limb loss or limb difference and family (non-professional) caregivers caring for a loved one with limb loss or limb difference. Before the National Conference session, registrants will participate in a 3-hour virtual CPV training (via Zoom). The in-person CPV skills assessment session will be held on Tuesday, August 1, from 9:00 a.m. EST – 12:30 p.m. EST.

To be eligible to join this live, in-person CPV Training, attendees must:

  • Meet the Amputee Coalition’s Certified Peer Visitor Criteria by the date of the CPV training
  • Be registered for the conference and submit an online CPV application with two attached letters of recommendation by Friday, June 23, 2023 (no training class fee)
  • Complete a third-party background check screening by Friday, June 30, 2023 (no background check fee)
  • Attend a 3-hour virtual CPV training via Zoom* the week of July 17-23, 2023, led by Amputee Coalition CPV Trainers

Learn more and submit your CPV application today!

PLEASE NOTE THAT NATIONAL CONFERENCE REGISTRATION IS SEPARATE FROM THE CPV TRAINING REGISTRATION. TO REGISTER FOR CONFERENCE, VISIT THE CONFERENCE REGISTRATION WEBPAGE.

We truly appreciate your interest in becoming a Certified Peer Visitor and your dedication to helping us support as many amputees as possible.
