Aviation Scholarships Open November 1!

Oct 23, 2023 |

Discover a whole new world of freedom with personal aviation! Every year the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) offers a variety of flight training and post-secondary scholarships to help future pilots take to the skies. Applications will open soon on Wednesday, November 1 and remain open until Friday, March 1, 2024.

Flight training scholarships may be used to cover the costs at any flight training school in the United States or Canada that is not a university program. The Adapt to Fly Scholarship is one of the funds in the flight training category specifically created for people with disabilities.

The Adapt to Fly Scholarship will be awarded to a person with a disability as defined by the ADA and who meets the qualifications for a Class 3 Medical or Sport Pilot Certificate. They must be at least 17 years old, a U.S. citizen with a valid driver’s license, and able to operate the controls of a training aircraft.

Air Academy Camperships are another unique opportunity open to students ages 12 to 18. These awards allow the youngest members of the growing community to explore the world of aviation at EAA Air Academy camps in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

The skies are closer than you think! Find out if adaptations are possible for your level of limb loss or limb difference.

Visit EAA’s aviation scholarships landing page for more information on all scholarship opportunities and to begin your application in November. Please email any questions to scholarships@eaa.org.
