One Day Left To Secure Early Bird Rates for the 2023 Advocacy Forum

Feb 14, 2023 |

Fellow advocates–don’t miss out on the last opportunity to save with early bird registration! Tomorrow is the final day to register for this year’s Advocacy Forum in Washington, DC, before rates increase on Thursday, Feb. 16.  Held during Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month, the Amputee Coalition’s 2023 Advocacy Forum, April 16-19, is a powerful opportunity to Elevate Your Voice with likeminded individuals.

The Amputee Coalition is excited to announce the availability of 25 travel scholarships in the amount of $500 for Advocacy Forum registrants. To apply, please follow the prompts in the registration form and share your “Why I Advocate” story. “Why I Advocate” essays can include details about your personal advocacy journey, a story of an injustice or access issue that highlights the need for change, or a description of why you are participating in the 2023 Advocacy Forum. Applications will be accepted through midnight on March 13. Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than noon on March 17.

Whether you are an amputee, a caretaker, or simply a compassionate champion of the community, your voice is needed and you have a part to play. On behalf of the 2.7 million Americans living with limb loss and limb difference, we will join to advocate for greater access to comprehensive rehabilitation and prosthetic care, greater access to support services and resources, and more targeted responses to the health inequities impacting the limb loss and limb difference community.

Sunday, April 16, will kick off this impactful event with a welcome reception. It will be followed by a full day of advocacy sessions on Monday. On Tuesday, attendees will have the opportunity to meet directly with members of Congress on Capitol Hill to show support for policy changes and share their stories. This four-day event will conclude on Wednesday, April 19, with a series of workshops and trainings designed to mobilize advocates and better position them to make a difference in their communities.

There is power in numbers, and there is power in your unique story. The Advocacy Forum will give you the tools to become your own advocate and create meaningful change for generations to come. We look forward to seeing you this April!
