By Amanda Woodson – Government Relations Specialist

Members of Congress and their staff are working on next year’s budget, and they want to hear from you about how they can support people with limb loss and limb difference. Taking action is as easy as 1-2-3 if you have the right tools in your arsenal! We have made it easy for you to share your story with Congress regarding the importance of the National Limb Loss Resource Center (NLLRC). This action alert is designed to allow you to share your stories with your members of Congress to show why funding for the NLLRC is so important to our community. The Amputee Coalition operates the National Limb Loss Resource Center through a cooperative agreement with the Administration for Community Living at the Department of Health and Human Services.

Have you met with one of our Certified Peer Visitors? Have you participated in one of over 400 support groups in our database located across the country? Have you spoken with one of our resource center specialists or visited our website for information? If you answered “yes” to at least one of these questions, then you have interacted with the National Limb Loss Resource Center. By sharing your story, you are informing your members of Congress and their staff how they can support the limb loss and limb difference community. Sharing your experience brings living with limb loss and limb difference to life in a way that a briefing memo could never do. Completing this action alert shares with your members of Congress the difference funding the NLLRC makes in the lives of our community.
