On Christmas night in 2004, my life would change forever due to a major car accident that left me in the hospital for 6 months, bed ridden for a year, and a right below knee amputation. What got me through this was God, my children, and my family. They were my support system, and my children were my strength. Also, I embraced life as an amputee. I had to learn this wasn’t the end of the world it was just a new way of living. With the proper resources, support, and information you can still lead a self-sufficient life.
