Uniquely Beautiful
At age 12 I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer), and at age 14 I lost my leg above the knee. I am now 34, and I am not going to say it’s been easy. Now I embrace the new look of my prosthetic leg by showing it off without using cosmetic foam. I share my story to spread awareness about limb loss and to give hope to patients with amputations, who frequently experience decreased self-esteem and a fear of the future.
Becoming an amputee has changed my life in so many ways! It has given me a gift that allows me to use my story to help others. I am proud to be thriving in my life as an amputee. It is who I am. I do what I have to do.
I support the limb loss and limb difference community! #WeTHRIVE
