MY AMPUTATION STORY.

I was in a bad wreck in June of 2020 and I had 17 surgeries on my leg to try and save it, but they said the risks were too high, so they let me decide to amputate my leg at 17 years old. The process was not easy at all. Having to wait so long to be able to get a leg killed me.

The day I finally got my leg was a great day, but the coming days were hard. I had started physical therapy to learn how to walk with my leg, and at times I truly wanted to give up, but I wouldn’t let myself give up, I knew I had to keep going because I still had so much life to live.

To this day I am still doing great, I still have an occasional fall here and there, but that’s just a bump in the road sometimes. My amputation experience has had its ups and downs, but at the end of the day I’m glad I made the decision to have my leg amputated because I don’t think I would have been here today if I hadn’t.
