David Martin

David Martin on a mountain climb.Hello, my name is David Martin from Lebanon Pa. I have been married for over 27 years and we have 2 daughters and 3 sons. and now have 2 granddaughters and another grandchild on the way!

We live on a turkey farm and I also am a partner in a few feed mills. On October 10, 2016, I was cleaning out a corn bin early in the morning when I bumped some dust down on my light and it went dark. Thinking I knew where I was walking I stepped into an open auger well. Somehow I managed to pull out my left foot but the damage was too great that we had to amputate below my knee. I have learned to walk on a prosthesis and have found a new normal to daily living and really love to hear others stories. I am a hunter and fisherman and have been able to climb the same mountains as before, if not as fast. I credit my faith in God, my wonderful family, and of course the medical doctors and my prosthetist, Mike Kelly from Lawall Prosthetic & Orthotic Services for being my cheerleaders and encouragers to keep it up and not quit when things seem tough.
