Amputee Coalition Job Center Delivers Resources for Job Seekers, Employers

(May 10, 2023, Washington, D.C.) The Amputee Coalition has launched its new Job Center for people living with limb loss and limb difference to explore career opportunities that are right for them. The Job Center seeks to assist adults, veterans, and youth 15 to 17 with career exploration, transitioning back into working, or starting their journey into the workforce. As part of the organization’s innovative Workforce Development Program, the Job Center provides collaboration for individuals needing assistance with career exploration, resume writing, setting up a professional profile or mock interview, or searching and applying for internships and job opportunities.

“The great thing about our job board platform is that our internships and opportunities that we have on there are from employers and organizations that collaborate with our Workforce Development Program,” said Trenaya Reid, workforce development manager for the Amputee Coalition.

There are nearly 6,000 listings from all over the United States posted on the Job Center. Employers can post jobs and review resumes with the knowledge that they are finding qualified candidates ready to make an impact in their workforce. Job seekers can search for positions in the Job Center by keyword, job title, or location. Users can also visit the Career Planning Portal, which offers insight, coaching, and tips for professional writing and interviews. Submitted resumes can be reviewed at no cost by the Amputee Coalition Workforce Development Program team.

This new initiative is an expansion of the services provided by the Workforce Development Program, which also includes one-on-one career development meetings, fact sheets on job-related topics for people in the limb loss and limb difference community, public health workers, and providers, and webinars on job-related topics for community members, internal and external partners, and employers.
