The 2023 Amputee Coalition National Conference has memorable keynote addresses lined up with Amy Purdy and Mike Schultz, two Paralympians/businesspeople with wide and varied capabilities, and the schedule is packed far beyond those events.
The National Conference will enliven Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld® from Aug. 2-5. You must sign up soon to be eligible for the early bird registration rate.
Participants can get a well-rounded view of life with limb loss or limb difference with the four educational tracks at the National Conference: Love Yourself (self-advocacy), Love Living (health and wellness), Love the Community (community living), and Love Career Growth (career path engagement).
Self-advocacy helps you cope with preconceived notions and stigmas that others have about the disability community. Health and wellness is vital to improving independence, integration, inclusion, and productivity.
Community living sessions will highlight the necessity for you to have the same opportunities as everyone else to choose how to participate in society, where to live, and what to do in your own life. Finally, career path engagement will help you discover your unique skills, abilities, and talents on the way to choosing a career that is right for you.
Visit the conference webpage for more details on the upcoming event, follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, and join the conversation using #ACNC23. If you need financial assistance, there are scholarships available.
