The Amputee Coalition National Conference is a pivotal gathering that brings together individuals with limb loss and limb difference, their families, professionals, and industry experts to foster education, support, and advocacy. This year, we have gone above and beyond to curate a program that promises to be informative and uplifting, offering a platform for sharing experiences, acquiring knowledge, and building community.
We invite you to join us at the Opening Night Celebration, which will kick off the conference on Wednesday, Aug. 2, from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm ET. This celebratory event aims to set the tone for the days ahead, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and unity. Opening night will feature acclaimed singer/songwriter Marsha Elle.
Mike Phillips and his soulful yet funky grooves have wowed fans across the globe and earned standing ovations from audiences at the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, and the inaugural balls for Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. His television credits include performances on the Grammys, BET Awards, BET Honors, and the Soul Train Awards. Phillips also served as musical director and host of the popular BET program Lyric Café.
Marsha Elle is a singer/songwriter, bionic model and speaker endeavoring to deliver the message of hope through music. Elle was born with Proximal Focal Femoral Deficiency (PFFD) and has been an above the knee amputee most of her life. From Glamour Brasil to Marie Claire and Huffington Post to People magazine, Elle’s story of inspiration has been shared worldwide and she continues to spread the message of love, light, and acceptance. At the age of 17, Elle released her hit single “Hallelujah” a fusion of Caribbean Zouk and pop that received accolades from radio stations both in the Americas and across the sea. Elle’s sophomore album “Brave” was released spring 2016 with her hit singles “Beard” and “Unlimbted”.
As we bring the conference to a close, we invite you to be part of the unforgettable Closing Night Dance Gala, which will take place on Friday, Aug. 4 from 8:00 pm-12:00 midnight ET. The Gala will be a joyful and celebratory night, where attendees can showcase their moves on the dance floor, create lasting memories, and bid farewell to newfound friends as David Jack spins top 40 hits. This event will provide an opportunity to reflect on the knowledge gained during the conference while embracing the support and connection that the Amputee Coalition community fosters.
